Dylandigited is the trading name of Dylan Hanmer, a property videographer and photographer based in Hampshire. This page explains what personal information I collect, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
If you have a question about your information, email contact@dylandigited.com.
What I collect
- Visits to this website. Google Analytics records the pages you view, roughly where you are, and the device and browser you use. It sets cookies to do this.
- Enquiries. Your name, business, email address, phone number and the messages you send me by email, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok or a form on this site.
- Bookings. The property address, shoot details, client agreements, invoices and payments.
- Films and photos. The property I film and photograph, and anyone who agrees to appear in them.
Delivery pages
Each job gets its own page at dylandigited.com/d/ with the property's film, photos and download links. The pages are not listed anywhere and ask search engines not to index them, but anyone with the link can open them. They do not ask for anything about the people who view them. So that I can confirm a delivery arrived, each page logs its views and downloads: the time, what was downloaded, the device and browser, the IP address and the approximate location and network it points to (looked up with ipinfo.io), and a random id in a cookie on the device so repeat visits can be told apart. No names or email addresses are collected, the record is only ever shown to me on the job it belongs to, and it is kept for as long as the delivery page is.
The film on a delivery page is played by YouTube. Before you press play, the player is not loaded. Once you press play, YouTube may set cookies and collect information under Google's Privacy Policy. Downloads come from Google Drive.
YouTube API Services
I use YouTube API Services to upload each property film to the Dylandigited YouTube channel as an unlisted video, and to show it on the delivery page. By watching a film on a delivery page you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's Privacy Policy applies.
- The upload tool only signs in to Dylandigited's own Google account. It never asks for or uses anyone else's Google or YouTube account.
- It uploads films and reads back their status (for example, whether a video is unlisted). It does not read, store or share any information about viewers.
- Its sign-in details are kept on my own computer and are not shared with anyone.
- Anyone who has given an app access to their Google account can remove it at any time at Google's third-party connections page.
How I use it
- To reply to enquiries, quote, book and carry out shoots, deliver the work and send invoices (to take steps towards, and carry out, our agreement).
- To keep records for tax and accounting (a legal obligation).
- To understand how the website is used and improve it, and to share finished work on social media where the client agreement allows it (legitimate interests).
I never sell personal information or use it for anyone else's marketing.
Who helps me
I use these services to run the business. Each one only gets what it needs for its job:
- Google (email, YouTube, Drive, Analytics), Netlify (hosts this website) and ipinfo.io (tells me roughly where a delivery page was opened from)
- Notion and Supabase (my own business records)
- Meta (Instagram and WhatsApp), LinkedIn, TikTok, Zernio and Kapso (messages and social posts)
- Tally (forms) and Anthropic (an AI assistant that helps me draft replies and captions; I check everything before it is sent)
Some of these companies are based outside the UK. Where that happens, they protect the information with safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not turn into work: up to two years.
- Client records, agreements and invoices: six years, as HMRC requires.
- Delivery pages, YouTube films and download folders: while they are useful to the client. Ask and I will take them down.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Email contact@dylandigited.com and I will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
